Central Picked Second in MIAA Poll

Defending League Champs, UCO Gets Two First-Place Votes Ahead of New Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma was picked second in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced Monday.

Central Oklahoma, which won the MIAA title last season, received two first-place votes and had 14 total points in the poll of five head coaches in the league.
 
UCO went 4-0 in the MIAA in 2021-22 to win the conference championship. The Bronchos then won the NCAA Super Region IV title before finishing national runners-up at the 2022 NCAA Division II national championships.
 
Nebraska Kearney, which won the national title, was picked first in the preseason poll with three first-place votes and 15 total points.
 
Central Oklahoma is also ranked No. 4 in the country in the NWCA Preseason Top 25. The Bronchos open the 2022-23 season Friday, Nov. 4 with a Top 25 showdown against No. 19 Northern State.
