Bronchos Stay No. 3 In Mat Poll

MANHEIM, Pa. (Jan. 22) – Central Oklahoma retained its No. 3 ranking in the latest NCAA Division II wrestling poll that was released Friday by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

The Bronchos of fifth-year head coach Todd Steidley earned 75 points in the poll to finish behind St. Cloud State (107) and Nebraska-Kearney (85). Lindenwood is fourth with 72 points, followed by Gannon with 58.

UCO has nine individuals ranked in the top 12, with Heath Gray staying No. 1 at 184 to lead the way. Ty Lucas remained second at 157 and Dalton Abney held down the No. 3 spot at 197.

Tanner Cole (125) and Brik Filippo (149) are both seventh, while 141 Nate Keim is eighth, 174 Wyatt Jordan ninth and 133 Paxton Rosen and 165 Dayton Garrett 12^th.

Super Region IV has seven of its 10 teams ranked in the top 25, including three in top six. Besides UCO and Lindenwood, McKendree is No. 6, Fort Hays State No. 19, Drury No. 20, Newberry No. 23 and Maryville No. 24.

Central is scheduled to host the Super Regional IV Tournament Feb. 28 at Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos, 3-0 on the young season, return to action Saturday with three matches at the Midwest Duals in Kearney, Neb.
