Moore Nabs Conference Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan. 28) -- Central Oklahoma's Zachary Moore nabbed Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Wrestler of the Week accolades Tuesday, it was announced by the conference office.

Moore wrestled just one match last week, but his performance in sixth-ranked UCO's 20-17 win over No. 7 Lindenwood proved worthy of the weekly honor. The senior 149-pounder upset fourth-rated Danny Swan, taking Swan to his back early in the third period and scoring a stunning fall at the 5:19 mark to propel the Bronchos past the Lions.

It was the fifth consecutive week for a Central wrestler to claim the MIAA award.

The Bronchos, 9-1 on the year and 1-0 in league action, goes on the road for two conference matches this week. UCO is at No. 22 Fort Hays State Friday night and No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney Saturday afternoon.
