KINGSVILLE, Texas (Jan. 8) -- Central Oklahoma's Jermelle Cudjo helped lead his team to a 16-0 win in the Valero Cactus Bowl here Friday night.

Cudjo played for the West team in the NCAA Division II all-star game involving the best NCAA Division II college seniors from around the country.  The 6-3, 300-pound defensive tackle made four tackles, including a seven-yard sack, and also forced a second-quarter fumble that the West recovered deep in East team territory that led to a field goal.

Cudjo, a native of Lawton, was a four-year starter for the Bronchos who earned first-team All-Lone Star Conference North Division honors twice and second-team accolades once.

He finished the 2009 season with 58 tackles, including a team-high 12.5 tackles for loss with 3.5 sacks. He finished his career with 198 tackles, 38.5 of those for loss.

Cudjo is the fourth UCO player in the last three years to participate in the Cactus Bowl, which started as the Snow Bowl in Fargo, N.D. in 1994 before moving to Kingsville and changing names in 2001. Linebacker Will Clewis played in 2007, while lineman Dustin Finn and linebacker K.C. Asiodu competed last year.
