Lauren Piper Named MIAA A-Game Scholar Athlete

Central Oklahoma Senior Earns Top Academic Award At MIAA Women's Soccer Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior Lauren Piper was named the Athletic Solutions "A Game" Scholar-Athlete of the 2025 MIAA Women's Soccer Championship, the league announced Thursday.

The award will be presented to Piper prior to the 12 p.m. kickoff of Central Oklahoma's MIAA Women's Soccer Championship semifinal match against Emporia State.

"We are proud of Lauren and what she represents both on and off the field," UCO head women's soccer coach Amel Muhamedagic said. "She is a great teammate, great leader, and someone who has excelled in everything she does."

The MIAA's A-Game Scholar-Athlete award, started in 2023, is a reflection of the NCAA's Elite 90 Award, which is given to the student-athlete with the highest grade point average at the national championships in each sport. Piper is a Kinesiology student with a 4.0 GPA with 119 credit hours earned entering this semester.

She's helped Central Oklahoma reach the postseason and leads the team into the semifinals Thursday at 12 p.m. against Emporia State. UCO reached the championship game last season before a trip to the national tournament. Piper has two goals and two assists this season.

From Rockwall, Texas, Piper is also the second Broncho to win the A-Game Scholar Athlete Award and the previous winner was also a member of the soccer team. Kassidy Collins brought home the honor in 2023.
