AZ's PR Leads Bronchos In Joplin

Central Finishes 25th At Southern Stampede

JOPLIN, Mo. – The University of Central Oklahoma cross country team competed in its second race of the 2021 season and the Bronchos finished 25th at Missouri Southern's Southern Stampede.

Arizona Hummingbird led the way for the Bronchos in the field of over 200 runners from around the region. The fifth-year senior from Wagoner, Oklahoma finished 58th with a time of 18:32.75, a time that by 20 seconds beat her previous best mark. That was an 18:56 that she ran to win the OBU Invite in 2019.
 
Bethany Garrison was the second Broncho across the finish line, clocking a 20:33.24. She finished 189th overall. Shiloh Hutchinson was not far behind, logging a 20:49.04 Saturday. Harlie Hanson, who made her season debut, posted a time of 20:57.81.
 
Clara Shirley (21:08) and Marin Rhodes (21:45) also ran for the Bronchos.
 
Central Oklahoma has a short turnaround before its next competition. The Bronchos visit Emporia State University for a Friday evening race next week in Kansas.
