EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma women's basketball team announced the addition of two transfers for the 2021-22 season.
Alayzha Knapp (Arkansas Little Rock) and Ginger Reece (Panola College) are both signed to play for the Bronchos next season.
"We're excited to have both of them join our program," UCO coach Heather Davis said. "They each bring their own style of play but they also both fit well into our system. They will both be good additions to the program."
Knapp comes to UCO from Arkansas-Little Rock, where she has spent the past two seasons. She played 30 games (19 starts) as a freshman in 2019-20 and averaged 7.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Last season, in limited action, she averaged 7.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 10 games played.
Knapp is from Tulsa, Oklahoma and played all four years of high school basketball for Tulsa Union.
Reece comes to UCO from Panola College (Texas), where she spent last season leading her team to the national tournament. She played one season at Arkansas prior to Panola, but only appeared in six games as a freshman. Reece averaged 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during her sophomore season. She also shot 34 percent from 3-point range, making 43 threes in 20 games played.
Reece also hit 14 threes in one game in the postseason this spring. She scored 54 points, going 18-for-25 from the floor, 14-for-20 from behind the arc, and 4-for-4 from the free-throws. Reece also made it a triple double with 12 rebounds and 10 assists in the game.
Reece played high school basketball at Lawton Eisenhower.
Central Oklahoma is scheduled to open the 2021-22 this winter.
