UCO Players Nab All-MIAA Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 25) – Freshman Laura Klingert picked up second-team All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association honors in both singles and doubles to pace seven Central Oklahoma players who earned recognition, the league office announced Thursday.
 
Klingert was the second-team choice at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles with freshman Ilga Racika-Racka, while sophomore Alina Gorina nabbed second-team singles accolades at No. 3 and junior Kristin Richardson at No. 6.
 
Senior Antonella Rossini at No. 1, junior Petra Pesic at No. 2, senior Rose Cabato at No. 4 and Racika-Racka were honorable mention singles selections, with Gorina and Pesic also a honorable mention doubles pic at No. 2.
 
The Bronchos, 17-3 on the season, go to Tahlequah, Okla. Saturday for a noon meeting with Northeastern State in the first round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional.  It's the fifth national tournament appearance in six years for UCO.
