DUNCAN, Okla. (Sept. 22) -- Central Oklahoma knocked nine shots off its first-round score and moved up two spots in finishing seventh at the season-opening The Territory Classic here Tuesday.
The Bronchos were ninth after Monday's opening-round 305 at the 7,098-yard, par-72 The Territory Golf and Country Club before coming back with a final-round 294 to finish at 599 in taking seventh in the 17-team tourney. Dallas Baptist and St. Edward's tied for first at 578, with the Patriots winning the title in a playoff.
Colin Morgan led UCO Tuesday with an even-par 72, while Andrew Green shot 73, Matt Charlson 74, Dillon Rust 75 and Zach Cleland 77. Trevor Stafford shot 76 playing as an individual medalist.
"We were very consistent today," UCO coach Dax Johnston said. "We struggled with our putting again and had 10 three-putts, but I like this team and we'll get better as the year goes on."
The Bronchos continue their short fall schedule next Monday and Tuesday, going to Indianapolis, Ind. for the Division II Preview.
