LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 19) -- Central Oklahoma received votes in the preseason NCAA Division II CBS College Sports/AVCA Coaches' Top 25 Poll that was released Tuesday.

The Bronchos have four starters back from last year's 32-7 team that advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Southwest Regional but are without two All-Region players from that squad.  UCO earned 24 points in the poll, ranking 31st among the teams that earned points.

Defending champion Concordia-St. Paul topped the poll, receiving all 35 first-place votes in finishing with 897 points.  Defending Lone Star Conference champion West Texas A&M, which will visit Edmond on Oct. 16, was fifth in the preseason rankings.

UCO will face four other teams in the poll -- No. 2 Washburn on Oct. 4 in Topeka, Kan., No. 7 Tampa on Aug. 30 in Tampa Bay, Fla., No. 11 Emporia State on Oct. 3 in Topeka and No. 21 Ashland on Aug. 30 in Tampa Bay.  Click here for the complete poll.

The Bronchos will preview the 2008 team Saturday with the Bronze-Blue intrasquad scrimmage at 2 p.m.  UCO opens the season Aug. 29-30 at the Tampa Classic.
