Phil Ball served as UCO’s head football coach from 1964-76, compiling an, 82-46-6 record during his 13-year tenure for a .634 winning percentage.  He coached 51 All-Conference players and nine All-Americans in his career.

Ball led the Bronchos to nine winning seasons, including six with at least seven wins.  His best season was in 1972 when UCO went 9-2 to capture the Oklahoma intercollegiate Conference championship and qualify for the NAIA national playoffs.
