Luter was a four- year defensive standoutfor the Bronchos in the 1990s, seeing extended action as a freshman in 1994 before collecting 122 tackles and earning second-team All- Lone Star Conference honors at linebacker in 1995.
He amassed 163 tackles -- the second most in school history -- as a junior, picking up first-team All LSC and All-America accolades in leading UCO to a 9-3 record and the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II playoffs.
Luter missed the 1997 campaign with a knee injury, but rebounded in 1998 to spearhead one of the best teams in UCO history. He finished with 146 tackles for the nation's top-ranked scoring defense and was a consensus first-team All-American in addition to earning Division II Linebacker of the Year recognition as the Bronchos went 12-0 and won their first-ever LSC title in making it to the national quarterfinals.
Named to the UCO All-Century Team, the Oklahoman Small College All-Century Team and the Lone Star Conference 75th Anniversary Team, Luter ranks as the school's all-time leader in both total tackles (457) and unassisted tackles (164).
