Howard Moore enjoyed a stellar wrestling career at UCO as a four-year starter and four-time All-American, finishing with a 104-39-5 career record and helping the team to two national championships.
Moore placed seventh as a true freshman in the 1989 NAIA National tournament as UCO captured the team title in its final year as NAIA members. As a sophomore in 1990 he entered the national meet unseeded and defeated the Nos. 1,3 and 5 seeds en route to the national title as UCO finished runner-up in its first year in NCAA Division II.
Moore was runner-up to a four-time champion as a junior, and then ended his career in style as a senior in 1992 by capturing a second national championship in finishing 24-2-3. Howard’s finals victory as a senior clinched UCO’s first-ever Division II team title.
