The 1981-82 wrestling team joined the '81 team on stage for a double-induction in 2018. Central State made it a back-to-back national championships for the Broncho wrestling team that year.

Ronnie James and Bill Ameen won titles for the second consecutive season and Central had four others earn All-American honors in Darren Huff, Joe Starzenski, Mike Clark, and Benny Coleman.

James was named Outstanding Wrestler in the national tournament, following up with the same award Ameen won the season before.
